Update and an Introduction to Our New Line

Hello Everyone, 

Things have been quiet here on the blog.... but it hasn't been quiet behind the scenes. I was gearing up for a couple of trade shows, which went really well, and things have quieted down a tad. 

The Fall/Winter Line for this year is out there in all it's glory!!!! Bold Colors, Fun Prints (chevrons!!!!) and Comfortable Knits and Flannels are what make this line stand apart!!!

The Facebook page and the Etsy shop are full, so get yours before they are gone!!! 

I am also still taking custom orders (maxi skirts!!!!) so if you want a Christmas gift or Something for the Christmas/Winter season. Let me know, and we can run from there!!! Send me your ideas for almost anything, and I'll work my magic, and see what I can do!!! :)

So, I missed Feature Friday for the second week in a row... I am NOT doing good here. 

Things are crazy right now, and I am working on getting custom orders finished first before I get anything up in the shop. Want a peak at what those orders are??? :) A grad dress, a maxi skirt, and some crib sheets.

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I am just too busy, (again).

Maxi skirts are the rage right now, and I am liking it!!! They are not only comfortable and cute, they are also modest (if not too tight) and can be dressed up or down. And there are so many options with these skirts!!!

That is why I am offering custom order maxi skirts. I personally believe that the custom fit it the most amazing thing about homemade, that is why I will never sell ready-made ladies clothing (other than scarves and other accessories).

Simply send me your measurements, and your fabric and style preference, and we can go from there.

**I can make ONE more with the striped fabric above, as long as your measurements are no longer than 40 inches (from the hip to the heal).**

Custom Order–Striped Maxi Skirt

A friend of mine that I know from way back when, but kind of re-met earlier this year, asked me to make a maxi skirt for her. I have made them before, for myself, but not for anyone else. She wanted something fun, and told me to have fun looking for the fabric. Well, I did. I went down to Ottawa Street in Hamilton after school the other week and found this beautiful striped grey and turquoise knit fabric!!! I fell in love with it, and didn’t really want to give the skirt away when it was finished. ;) Jess loves it as much as I do (YAY!!!). That is always the best part about doing custom orders, the excitement of the girls who order them. :)

And knowing you all, you will probably want one too. ;) Simply send me your measurements and fabric preferences and we can go from there. There are oodles of options with these skirts, I can even add ruffles. Also, I can make one more with this fabric (as long as your measurements from hip to heal are not more than 40 inches).

Feature Friday–Flannel Washcloths

Custom Order–Change Table Sheets

A very very nice lady that I know is in charge of the cleaning at her church. The mattress for the changing table is an odd size, and she needed some new sheets for it. The sheets that she has now are also homemade, so that says that someone else couldn’t find fitting sheets for the mattress either. :)

I wasn’t actually going to post this, because…. well…. the sheets don’t really fit. :S I thought I would post them anyways, just to let you know that not everything I make is perfect!!!!! :) They look beautiful, especially with the adorable flannel prints and surged edges, but they are too short. I thought I made them the same size as the original sheets, but alas! I didn’t!!! Next time I am have to take measurements of the mattress first. :) Now I have to make another two sheets, and these will either be re-purposed into something else or given to someone who has a mattress that is a bit smaller.

And that being said, I can make custom-fitting sheets for you as well!!! lol. (you are probably doubting me greatly right now, but I am willing to give it a try again, if you will give me another chance).

Custom crib sheets, bassinet sheets, change table sheets and more!!!! Send me the exact dimensions and fabric preferences, and we can go from there!!!

So here, they are: very pretty, but exactly not fitting. :)

My siblings have dubbed this fabric the ‘Wonder Bread Monkey’ fabric.

 

Update–What is going on in May

For those of you who have visited the Etsy Shop recently, you might have noticed that we are on holidays for the month of May. That means that we won’t be posting anything new in the shop (after today), but everything in the shop is still for sale!!! :) I will still be taking custom orders, as long as you are willing to wait until June to have them completed.
The reason the shop is ‘on holidays’ is because I am working ridiculously long hours, 6 days a week, for the month of May. I am literally taking a break from everything but work and church. The job is pretty fun, and pays well, so it is totally worth it, but I will be glad to come back and start sewing again!!! (I don’t think I will stop completely, because I don’t think that will ever happen!!! :) But, it will be so slow that it isn’t worth having the shop open.)
I will still be posting Feature Friday posts (the beauty of scheduled posts), :) so feel free to keep visiting the blog and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook. I will hopefully still be posting stuff on there.

Sewing for Me–Lace Infinity Scarf

Yes, this has been blogged already, but anyways. :) I thought I would share with you something I recently made for myself.

This scarf is my new favorite. It is light, perfect for the summer, and the lacey pattern of the fabric adds a touch of feminine flair (which, as you might have noticed, I am always looking for). :) It also is versatile, and goes with almost anything!!!

The best part… I got the material for less than $1.00…. one more of the awesome deals I got when I worked at Fabricland (there is something else coming soon that I also got there on super-sale!!! Seriously, employees get bonuses, especially when a store is closing).

And… no, I don’t have a tutorial. I kinda went by the seat of my pant anyways. But someday I am going to have to create tutorials… but I am simply too lazy to do it!!!! I should really share all of this knowledge I have learned about altering any pattern or already made garment with you people. I learned from others, and I should share it with you… maybe when the crazy month of May is finished.
